5 Tips on How To Make Iced Coffee at Home and Save Money

Written by Sarah Hester RD, MS

Making iced coffee at home can save you major cash – here’s 5 tips on how to make delicious coffee shop style iced coffee at home.

  1.  Brew Your Coffee – You can simply brew your favorite hot coffee and store in the refrigerator or buy plain cold brew coffee. Any coffee will do here!

  2. Don’t Sleep On The Syrup – Sweeten and flavor your iced coffee with simple syrup (50/50 water and sugar) or sweetened syrups. We love the Torani brand caramel, brown sugar cinnamon, and French vanilla that are available in both sugar and non-sugar free versions. Follow Illa’s tip of putting your syrups in cute little pumps to make them aesthetically pleasing.

  3. Upgrade Your Ice Cubes – This sounds silly, but fancy ice cubes just make iced coffee better. Use a fancy ice cube tray like this cute ball mold or use coffee instead of using water to make the cubes.

  4. Milk For Protein – Because iced coffee girlies need to stay full, too. Adding cow’s milk or ultra-filtered cow’s milk can add a serious amount of protein to get your day started right. Check out our blog post reviewing ultra-filtered milk here.

  5. Fancy Glasses and Straws – Immediately feel more bougee by using fancy glasses or cups and straws. We love glasses at home or a reusable plastic cup for on the go. Bonus tip: Chill your glasses in the freezer for an even crispier drink!
