How to Lose Weight With Less Exercise

Imagine training for a half marathon, running 50-60 miles a week, and still gaining weight. This was the situation that TMN client Hannah found herself in. Hannah grew up with a love of being outdoors and staying active, but struggled with weight gain. She tried a number of restrictive diets and juice fasts but did not find long term success.  While her overall nutrition was good, there were a few things she needed to tweak in order to lose weight and maintain nutrition in a sustainable way. By following the 6-step Millennial Nutrition program, Hannah discovered what changes she needed to make. Learn more about her journey to balanced health in today’s episode. Hannah Privette currently lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and loves to be active outside running, rock climbing and engaging in endurance sports.

3 Lifestyle Tweaks that helped Hannah include:

  • Calorie Counting: While Hannah has a very healthy diet, she was eating a lot of calorie dense food such as almond flour pancakes. Once she realized this, she switched to foods with fewer calories, but still high nutritional value.

  • Switching from running to walking: Hannah loves intense workouts and was skeptical about including walking as a daily habit. Not only was walking easy to incorporate, but she found it to be a better stress reliever than running.

  • Becoming aware of eating habits. Are you an emotional eater? How does stress affect the way you eat? By tracking what she ate, Hannah became aware of her patterns and could then change them.
