A Comprehensive Review of Kourtney Kardashian's Lemme Vitamin Brand | Ingredients and Claims

Written By Vanessa Carrillo

Kourtney Kardashian recently released her own vitamin brand called Lemme. The brand has three different types of gummies: Lemme Matcha, which claims to be energy-boosting, strawberry-flavored Lemme Focus, and stress-relieving Lemme Chill. Let's take a closer look at these products and their ingredients.

Key Points from Lemme's Website

No Glucose Syrup and no High Corn Fructose Syrup added

While the gummies don't have glucose or high fructose corn syrup, they do contain simple sugars from tapioca and cane sugar. While small amounts of sugar are not a big deal, our body doesn't differentiate between different sugar sources when it metabolizes them. Therefore, it's important to note that this product is not sugar-free and that the sugars they do add are not necessarily healthier.

Clinically Studied Ingredients

While it's great to see science-backed ingredients in this product, it's important to note that the gummy itself has not undergone clinical testing. Therefore, it's difficult to say if the claims made for the individual ingredients will carry over to the gummy.

Gelatin-free

Lemme gummies are gelatin-free, which is great news for many people who choose not to consume gelatin due to dietary restrictions or religious practices.

This Has Been in the Works for 5 Years

It's great to see that this product wasn't rushed and that there was thought and planning put into it.

Now, let’s jump into supplement review:

Lemme Matcha Key

Ingredients: Organic Matcha, B12, and Antioxidant CoQ10

Claim: Improve Cellular Metabolism and help convert food into energy

Matcha is finely ground green tea leaves and does have health benefits. However, since the gummy hasn't undergone clinical testing, it's difficult to say whether someone can receive the same benefits by taking it in gummy form.

CoQ10 does play a role in the electron energy transport chain during energy production but will not increase your metabolic rate. A systematic review does suggest it may help with reducing fatigue, resulting in feeling better.

B12 is a water-soluble vitamin. This gummy contains 24 mcg, which is 1000% of your daily needs. The Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for adults is 2.4 mcg. Manufacturers often promote vitamin B12 supplements for energy, athletic performance, and endurance, but vitamin B12 doesn't provide these benefits in people who get enough B12 from their diet. Vitamin B12 supplements can interact or interfere with some medicines that you take like Metformin, omeprazole (Prilosec®), lansoprazole (Prevacid®), cimetidine (Tagamet®), and ranitidine (Zantac®). Therefore, it's crucial to speak with your doctor before adding any supplement to your diet.

Lemme Chill

Ingredients: KSM-66 Ashwagandha, passionflower, Lemon balm, goji berry

Claim: Lower stress levels, maintain healthy cortisol levels,  and lower stress related food cravings!

KSM-66 Ashwagandhais the most concentrated ashwagandha root extract available today (per Ashwagandha company’s website). It has been used in Eastern medicine for centuries to help manage cortisol levels. Lemme uses the root, which has the most effects. This is backed by science in showing that it may help manage stress. These studies used dosages between 250 mg to 600 mg. Lemme Chill contains 300 mg which is in the clinical range that has found beneficial effects. Though, some studies have been funded by the Ashwagandha company which can be considered a conflict of interest.

I would like to note that there are free ways to help manage stress like going for a walk, talking to a friend, or reading a book.

‘Lemme’ then goes on to list passionflower, lemon balm, and goji berry as key ingredients but don't specify why they added them beyond vague wellness enhancement.

Lemme Focus Key

Ingredients: Citicoline, Lion’s mane, MCT oil, and B12.

Claim: Support concentration, think better, and helps you get through tasks faster

The nootropic ingredient, citicoline has been linked to help concentrate levels in the brain. Citicoline is naturally occurring in our brains. In clinical trials, citicoline was suggested to help with memory. The dosage in these studies were 500 mg to 2,000 mg per day. Lemme Focus has 250 mg.

There have been links to Lion’s mane to help protect against Alzheimer’s , but not in human trials. Mainly all lion’s mane research has been performed on animals or test tubes, therefore we do not have enough research to support claims in humans at this time.

MCT oil is popular in the keto community and for bullet coffee lovers. We’re taking a sharp turn and focusing (no pun intended) on its concentration claims. There is science backing up this claim for helping improve memory loss in older populations, specifically with Alzheimer’s disease. It’s hard to say how Kourtney Kardashian’s target audience will benefit from this niche study’s findings.

When it comes to a deficiency of b12 and the brain, the main concerns are Dementia and cognitive function. Most studies show that low blood levels of vitamin B12 don’t affect the risk of cognitive decline in older people, regardless of whether they have dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. More clinical trials are needed to better understand the effects of vitamin B12 supplementation on cognitive function in older adults.

Final Thoughts

Kourtney Kardashian's vitamin brand, Lemme, offers three types of gummies: Lemme Matcha, Lemme Chill, and Lemme Focus. While the product doesn't contain glucose or high fructose corn syrup, it still has simple sugars from tapioca and cane sugar, making it not sugar-free. While the brand has clinically studied ingredients, the gummy itself has not undergone clinical testing, making it difficult to say if the claims made for individual ingredients will carry over to the gummy. It's great to see that the product wasn't rushed, and there was thought and planning put into it. The gummies are gelatin-free, which is great news for people with dietary restrictions or religious practices. The product may have potential benefits, but it's crucial to speak with a doctor before adding any supplements to one's diet. While some ingredients have promising scientific evidence, there is still much research needed before claims can be fully supported.
