Unwind and Relax: 4 Evening Rituals to Help You De-stress and Recharge

Written by Hannah Abdulla

Whether you are a client or not, you are probably doing a lot in life which means you deserve (and need to) relax and unwind. Check out some of our picks below that help us shift into evening relaxation mode.

Herbal Tea

One of our favorite ways to unwind at the end of the day is with a glass of herbal tea. Teas like chamomile, lavender, and sleep time tea by Yogi are known to have relaxing effects. Additionally, we hear a lot of our clients saying they feel they need something out of habit in the evenings even if they are not hungry. If this sounds like you, creating a relaxing evening routine might benefit you. We recommend getting a fancy new tea cup and a few nice teas to help you unwind.

Evening Yoga and Stretching

According to Marlynn Wei, MD, JD, contributor to the Harvard Health Blog, evening yoga may improve sleep quality. She mentions practicing breath work along with holding a variety of yoga poses to promote rest and relaxation. We purchased this Lululemon dupe yoga mat from Amazon and gave the poses she recommends a try. We found it to be a great way to decompress after a long day. If you want to read about her recommended poses, we have linked her blog above.

At-Home Spa Night

There is no better way to unwind than by having a DIY spa night. We are Amazon girlies over here at TMN and have compiled a list of our favorite spa night Amazon finds.

Evening Journaling
The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences published an article mentioning the numerous benefits of journaling. Benefits include increased self-confidence, improved mental health, and a boost in emotional health. We know it sounds intimidating, especially if you are new to journaling. To help you out, we found a 5-Minute Zen Guided Journal (thank you again, Amazon) to get you started.
