5 Low Calorie Watermelon Recipes

Fresh cut watermelon is always a nice way to cool down for the summer. Watermelon contains 92% water, hence the name. Watermelon also includes high amounts of vitamin C and Vitamin A which are important for the natural growth of skin and hair while containing only 46 calories per cup. The minimal vitamins and minerals in watermelon contain Potassium: 5%, Magnesium: 4% , Vitamins B1, B5 and B6. Additionally, watermelon is also high in carotenoids, including beta-carotene and lycopene. Thus, it involves promoting antioxidants. Plus, it has citrulline, an important amino acid which has been said by some research it reduces muscle soreness and could promote in weight loss. The juice appears to enhance the absorption of citrulline as well. In conclusion, Watermelon provides a small amount of fiber and a lot of water which can be helpful in creating normal bowel movements, healthy digestion and promoting weight loss.

This 2 ingredient water recipe is so simple to make involving a type of milk and watermelon. Trying out this recipe I personally would recommend providing coconut milk to make it a little bit sweeter without adding anymore added sugar and making it a low calorie late night snack.

One tip for this recipe is to serve the salad right away to keep the flavors fresh. I would recommend adding in some fresh squeezed lemon on top!
