12 Places to Eat in Las Vegas | Nutrient-Dense Foods, Plant-Based, Asian, Mexican, and More
Written by Amelia Heimerman
Las Vegas, Nevada is a popular destination for its bright nightlife, endless slot machines, and warm temperatures, but what about the food? As a born and raised Vegas girl, I’ve had the privilege of a variety of cuisines at my fingertips. Although many tourists visit to enjoy the beautiful casinos that adorn Las Vegas Boulevard, the Vegas valley extends in all directions and houses growing suburbs populated with great restaurants.
The Strip
Las Vegas Boulevard, better known as The Strip, boasts rows of casinos, arenas, and other unique tourist experiences. Many of the Las Vegas casinos are connected and allow tourists the ability to walk from one casino to the next with ease. All of the beautiful hotels boast a variety of dining options to satisfy your craving and health needs.
True Food Kitchen- Forum Shops at Caesars Palace
The Forum Shops is a mall-like area in Caesars Palace with casual and brand name stores to browse. True Foods Kitchen boasts a variety of options like soups, salads, bowls, burgers, and sandwiches. All of these options include fresh, colorful veggies and healthy grains without compromising on great flavor!
Yellowtail- The Bellagio
The Bellagio itself boasts a beautiful atrium that is redecorated depending on the season. The majority of the decorations inside of the atrium are made from fresh flowers! Once you finish walking around the beautiful scenery, Yellowtail may be a great place to eat! Yellowtail is a fine dining experience with Japanese fusion flavors. This spot boasts a variety of fresh fish, which is a great source of lean protein. The entree options come with sauteed veggies and there are a variety of fresh salads and veggie sides to choose from!
Overlook Grill- The Venetian
Overlook Grill is a breakfast and lunch option with traditional breakfast favorites as well as options packed with fresh fruits and nutrients. For lunch, they boast whole grain bowls, salads, and even fish tacos. You can enjoy a green juice or yummy smoothie on the side for an extra nutrient punch!
Downtown Las Vegas
Downtown Las Vegas locates itself around the northern part of Las Vegas Boulevard and is home to the original Vegas casinos and the Arts District. After viewing galleries, browsing the many vintage stores on Main Street, and walking down the Fremont Street Experience, there are plenty of places to refuel!
Tacotarian
Tacotarian is a great place for yummy Mexican flavors! Tacotarian is 100% plant based and has a variety of options to fulfill any craving. They have nutritious salads, taco platters, burritos, and even a unique cauliflower ceviche. There are plenty of options and combinations to get in your veggies. I love their fresh guacamole which is packed with fresh fruits, nutrients, and flavors!
Bangkok Street Thai Kitchen
Bangkok Street Thai Kitchen offers cuisine from all parts of Thailand! Many of their options pair lean proteins, vegetables of all colors, grains, and great spices to create the perfect meal. They offer noodle dishes, curries with health-promoting spices, lean proteins, seafood, flavorful soups, and salads. This spot is definitely worth a try!
Chinatown
Chinatown, located on all sides of West Spring Mountain Road, is home to a variety of unique shops and great places to eat. Asian cuisine is typically quite healthy due to its utilization of healthy sources of protein paired with grains, veggies, and health-promoting spices. I would recommend visiting Shanghai Plaza to walk around, browse some shops, and even treat yourself to a light snack!
Viet Noodle Bar
There are numerous places to eat in Chinatown, but I love Viet Noodle Bar. This joint is open during later hours of the night, making it a great late-night bite. Pho is a great option to get in great flavors, bright green veggies, and a great source of protein without too many calories. Each dish is served with a bed of greens, many of which have their own unique flavor and vitamin compositions.
Summerlin (West Las Vegas)
Summerlin is a very popular suburb in the Las Vegas area. As it continues to grow, local restaurants, outdoor malls, casinos, and even our Las Vegas Aviators baseball team establish themselves there. Summerlin is a great place to experience the local life of Las Vegas, shop at Downtown Summerlin, watch a ball game, hike in the gorgeous Red Rock Canyon, and get some great food.
Flower Child
Flower Child prides itself on its healthy dining options. They have fresh salads with bright vegetables and fruits, Asian-inspired wraps and bowls, and even a few Mexican inspired options. Regardless of what you’re craving, Flower Child will leave you satisfied. I recommend the Chicken Enchiladas Bowl as well as the Thai Dye wrap!
SkinnyFATS
SkinnyFATS is located in Downtown Summerlin, which is an outdoor mall with a variety of places to eat, shop, and walk around. This restaurant is unique in that it offers two menus: one with more delectable options and the other with healthier bites. Regardless of what you order, each meal is packed with great flavors and will leave you happy! They offer shareable plates, tacos, bowls, and sandwiches.
Rachel’s Kitchen
Rachel’s Kitchen is a local-based restaurant with many locations in the Vegas Valley, even at Harry Reid International Airport! This restaurant offers great breakfast options as well as yummy salads, sandwiches, wraps, and soups, which are all packed with fresh fruits and vegetables. I always love grabbing Rachel’s Kitchen as a quick lunch to enjoy alongside the pool during the hot summer days. They also have a variety of fruit smoothies to choose from, the Peanut Butter Blast being a favorite of mine.
Henderson
Henderson is another up and growing suburb in the Las Vegas valley. Henderson locates itself closer to Bouldery City, Nevada and the Hoover Dam. New developments are breathing life into Water Street, a great place for a stroll in downtown Henderson. As the city continues to grow, many great cuisine options will follow.
One Bite Sandwich and Grill
One Bite has a special spot in my heart! Any time I would visit Henderson, I had to stop by this great joint. They specialize in Bahn Mi sandwiches, a Vietnamese sandwich on a french roll that contains lean proteins, tangy flavors, and a variety of fresh vegetables. Outside of their sandwiches, they offer fresh spring rolls, pho with homemade broth, grilled protein plates, and more! I love the Yellow Curry Chicken Lemongrass Sandwich with Tom Kha soup on the side!
North and Northwest side
Last, but not least we have the ever-growing north side of town, my home! This part of town finds itself closer to attractions like beautiful Mount Charleston and the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Meraki
Meraki locates itself just off Centennial Center Boulevard, which boasts a long stretch of restaurants and shops to explore! This restaurant has other locations in the valley and just opened up on this part of town! They offer Greek and Mediterranean classics like gyros, hummus, tzatziki, and spanakopita (my favorite). You can also select one of their freshly grilled, kabob-style proteins and lay it atop a salad of fresh greens and other colorful veggies or a whole-grain bowl. I recommend trying the falafel pita, which is a great vegetarian option! The crispy falafel pairs great with the smooth hummus and tzatziki and colorful, fresh veggies.
My goal with this article was not only to highlight the many healthy dining options in Las Vegas, but to also show you that Las Vegas is much more than the strip. The Vegas Valley is home to different shopping experiences like Downtown Summerlin, Town Square, and Main Street as well as beautiful nature scenes in Red Rock Canyon, Mount Charleston, and Lake Mead. Wherever your Las Vegas trip leads you, I guarantee that you will have a plethora of health-conscious dining spots to choose from!
